Gov2Go: A Citizen’s Personal Assistant for Idaho Government

Access Idaho launched the Gov2Go platform to provide residents with access to their government services in one simple view and to get reminders of time-sensitive tasks. All agencies can participate in the Gov2Go initiative. In 2022, we launched push reminders for the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses' occupational license holders and the Secretary of State’s business division for licensing corporations. The opt-in service sends residents a reminder 30 and 15 days prior to their renewal deadline as well as on the deadline date.

At a glance, a citizen can easily identify government tasks that need attention. The goal is to simplify and consolidate a resident's government to-do list in one centralized location. This service is available to state and local entities at no cost.

Idaho Transportation Department Ports of Entry Launches Online Appointments for Twin Falls

In June, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) hit the accelerator on improving the resident-to-government experience. Truckers no longer need to guess when to show up or lose money waiting for a clerk at the Port of Entry (POE) when they could be moving contracted freight.

The new TeleGov online appointment service at www.Idaho.gov/poe uses interactive forms (Access Idaho’s AppEngine) to help pre-screen motor carriers for an appointment and quickly set a date to be at the POE. Automated reminders are sent by email and text message or pushed out by the POE clerk to ensure a visit.

This combination of AppEngine and TeleGov is the start of something big that will change the resident-to-agency relationship beyond ITD and across the entire state enterprise. Future users could include sheriff's offices or agency branch offices. The Access Idaho team is excited to improve the resident experience for the better by cutting red tape with our digital solutions.
